Mathematics Spotlight ft. Wu-Tang Clan b/w John 3:16 ft. Method Man
Nature Sounds

First off if you don't know Allah Mathematics has been producing and creating razor sharp beats for the Wu for years. He recently releases his solo album "Love, Hell, or Right" and is now back with the first single of his sophomore album "The Problem" released on Nature Sounds. The A-side "Spotlight" features Cappadonna, U-God, Inspectah Deck and either a sample of Method Man or he spits a couple bars at the beginning. All in all the production is on point and the lyrics are classic Wu-Tang. Cappa on the chorus hook becomes a bit repetitive but it still comes off in classic Wu form. The B-Side track "John 3:16" ft. Method Man is definitely the highlight of this record. Mathematics delivers a hungry, dark, uptempo, shaolin style track for Meth to get down and dirty like its 1995. If you are a Meth/Wu fan and have lost faith check out this joint and you just might become a believer again.

Giant Panda - Fly School Reunion
Tres Records

Giant Panda is led by Maanumental, Newman, Chikaramanga as well as Sir Kado, and DJ Superbrush 427 who help out with scratches and cuts. Their new album "Fly School Reunion" put out by Tres Records is making noise throughout hip hop's underground. Giant Panda have the classic old school sound with a twist of new school funk to keep them original and innovative. Sounding a lot like People Under the Stairs, but this is not much of a surprise since Thes from PUTS is the owner of Tres Records. Production is mostly handled by Chikaramanga, Newman, and Sir Kado of Giant Panda, but the album is also laced with tracks from Thes One and Ben Gebhardt.

The first single "Super Fly" is a funky electronic sample flipped into a fat hip hop beat. Production by Thes One, this joint is funky and will get your head nodding. The B-Side is called "90's" produced by Newman with an outro produced by Thes One. Each song on this album has its own flavor yet a similar sound and feel. There really isn't a song that stands out over the other songs.

Fly School Reunion is one of those albums that you can pump straight through, consistently and that classic sound won't wear out on you. This album is 100% without gimmicks and made to stand the test of time throughout hip hop. If youre a fan of fresh LA hip hop, PUTS, good beats and rhymes, etc... then this CD is made just for you!
